An Evening of Immersion

ON ART AND THE SENSES
The two artists, Nadja Mattioli and Nanna Hanfgarn Jensen, will introduce and elaborate on their artistic work and the creative process behind the performance IMAGINARIUM, which will perform at Aaben Dans this November.

Nanna and Nadja lead the group Beyond Darkness, which is rooted in movement, performance and eco-centred installation. This evening will also feature practical examples of the group’s approach to engaging the audience through small physical sensory exercises.

Pernille Møller Taasinge, Head of Development at Aaben Dans, will facilitate the discussion, which is also linked to the broader theme of the senses that Aaben Dans has programmed for this autumn.

The senses are our entrance to the world. They shape our experiences, our relations and our understanding of yourselves. In autumn 2026, Aaben Dans opens the door for a series of in-depth evening, where we together will explore the meaning of the senses – artistically, physically and cognitively.

Through a series of independent events, we’ll move through performance, film and conversation. Each evening can be experienced independently, but together they they become a comprehensive programme for those seeking to immerse themselves in the world of the senses over time.
