MOVIE NIGHT AND CONVERSATION WITH SENSORY EXPERIENCES 

How do we work artistically with what we can’t express – but can only feel?

Choreographer Thomas Eisenhardt has through several years explored the senses as a performative expression. In his work, the body and the conscience meetings in an explorative field, where movement becomes a way of thinking and perceiving.

In 2025, Aaben Dans brought together a group of participants from both the world of art and natural science to explore the senses from different perspectives. The process was documented by a film anthropologist and the outcome is a 26 minute long documentary, which we’ll watch together on this evening.

Thomas Eisenhardt will after the screening invite to an open conversation and share his insights into his long-standing work at the intersection of perception and consciousness. The evening will also include simple and accessible exercises, where you as a participant will get the chance to experience and immerse yourself in the senses – in a safe and informal space.

It will be an evening of both contemplation and reflection. a chance to slow the pace, increase awareness and feel how the world emerges from the senses.

FOCUS ON THE SENSES – AUTUMN 2026
The senses are our entrance to the world. They shape our experiences, our relations and our understanding of yourselves. In autumn 2026, Aaben Dans opens the door for a series of in-depth evening, where we together will explore the meaning of the senses – artistically, physically and cognitively.

Through four independent events, we’ll move through performance, film, sensory tour and conversation. Each evening can be experienced independently, but together they they become a comprehensive programme for those seeking to immerse themselves in the world of the senses over time.
