Aaben Dans is looking for emerging and experienced dancers, choreographers and interdisciplinary movement based artists who would like to take part in Aabent Laboratorium the

May 8^th, 2025 at Aaben Dans in Roskilde

Aabent Laboratorium is a platform for sharing choreographic works in a professional black box context. Aabent Laboratorium offers the possibility to share artistic work with an audience as a part of the artistic development. Aabent Laboratorium is a platform that embraces new ideas and new ways of working within the field of choreography.

Aaben Dans curates:

• Short finished works
• Choreographic works-in-progress that is quite far in the process and ready to meet an audience
• The applicants must live in Denmark

Aabent Laboratorium will provide:

• Rehearsal time and technical set-up
• A performance evening in the black box with audiences
• Facilitated feedback session amongst the artists
• A facilited after talk with the audience
• Basic technique, technician, stage, PR and meal
• A fee of min. 5000 Dkk per piece – depending on how many pieces will participate
• Domestic travel support (max DKK 400 kr pr. person)

 To apply you must be able to participate in the following programme:

Thursday the 24^th of April, 13.00 – 14.30

Production meeting between the curated artists and Aaben Dans in Roskilde

Monday the 5^th of May or Tuesday the 6^th of May

Rehearsals in time sloths, technical set-up

Wednesday, the 7^th of May app. 10.00 – 15.00

Everybody in the venue for doing internal showings for each other and artistic feed-back facilitated by artistic director Thomas Eisenhardt – without tech.

Thursday, the 8^th of May – Full day + Performance evening at 19.30

10.00 – 16.00 rehearsals in time sloths

17.00: run through of full program

18.00 Communal meal

19.30: Performance with audiences

How to apply:

– Send a description of the project you want to show Very important to state clearly the duration of the piece and technical wishes/requirements

– a short CV of the involved artists

– a video link to the work or former works

– PR photo and short PR text
