Seminar “Hosting and Invitation”

SWOP seminar for professionals from different sectors as art, pedagogy or others working within the field of hosting children and young people.

The seminar will held be in English. NB! You need to book a ticket in advance.

We are thrilled to present this years keynote speaker: Emma Holten. Emma is a well known feminist activist, writer and author of the 2024 book “Deficit”, which has sold more than 50.000 copies in Denmark and is sold in 10 countries.

Emma will open the seminar – and our minds – with her talk on “The value of hosting in the perspective of people care – within the arts and within life “.

After the keynote we will continue with a programme planned to embrace different modalities of working with the theme of Hosting and Invitation. We will have conversations in both smaller and bigger groups, watch an intergenerational work sharing, have lunch together and end the day with a glass of wine.

We have experienced that attending the seminar will leave you with impressions in both body and mind that will follow you for the rest of the festival. We welcome you to a day of an enlightening keynote, deep conversations, artistic presentation and connection with other people. We wish you to feel invited and well hosted.

The SWOP seminar has been arranged by Aaben Dans in collaboration with artists Micaela Kühn Jara and Alfredo Zinola.

From 0-100 – a trio for three generations

From 0-100 – a trio for three generations explores the wonder and poetry that arise when three dancers from three different generations meet. It explores the dancers’ strengths and limitations, and how conflict, care, and equality can play out between them. How can the tension between cohesion and diversity bring the audience’s emotions and reflection into play?

The title From 0-100 – a trio for three generations” is a speculation on how a social landscape, like nature, can become a beautiful space for reflection, precisely because of the coexistence of different ‘species’.
