SIMPLE MACHINES (BE)
Ugo Dehaes’ robots are very special dancers: he has bred them himself in his basement, raised them and trained them to dance. Some of them crawl across the table like caterpillars, others stumble around like puppies, others turn flexibly in all directions, and some repeat the same monotonous movement over and over again.
In this performance, Ugo leaves the stage to the unique physical possibilities of the machines and the choreographic abilities of artificial intelligence. In doing so, he has created a playful robot ballet that humorously and picturesquely asks us how we would like to live side by side with robots.
There will be some text in English, but the performance can easily be enjoyed without understanding it.
